Organizational Intelligence Forum - Spring 2013

In association with Unicom, I am trying to put together an Organizational Intelligence Forum, possibly on April 25th to coincide with the Performance Management Forum.

Unicom is also planning another Enterprise Architecture Forum in London on March 21st. These generally attract a good audience of senior IT management from blue chip organizations. At the previous Forum in September, we had case studies from finance, oil and higher education. Anyone wishing to present a case study at the next event, please contact me or Unicom.

Those outside the UK may wish to plan a trip to London to coincide with these events.

Abstract

Organizational intelligence is a critical measure of the management capacity of an organization in a demanding competitive environment. Organizational intelligence can be blocked in various ways, including fragmented sociotechnical systems and dysfunctional management. Along with removing these blocks, the intelligence of an organization may be helped by appropriate technologies used in appropriate ways to tackle the inherent complexity of modern business in a dynamic environment. Relevant technologies include business intelligence, event processing, knowledge management, process improvement and social networking.

In his talk, Richard will present his framework for improving the intelligence of your organization and understanding the requirements for sociotechnical change.

Bio

Richard Veryard is well-known as an independent industry analyst. He spent many years working with the CBDI Forum as an expert on SOA and enterprise architecture, and was previously a Senior Member of Technical Staff at Texas Instruments, where he pioneered methods for component-based business, technology change management and business excellence. Public Workshop: 9th February 2011, London

Richard Veryard is running another 1-day workshop on Organizational Intelligence in London, aimed at helping organizations to manage ever-increasing levels of business complexity. This workshop is intended for experienced managers, architects and consultants, both line management and in support functions such as HR and IT.

The December workshop included a guest presentation from Maxine Cook of Microsoft, talking about the use of advanced third party intelligence tools within Microsoft's business processes, and Maxine will repeat this presentation in February.
